IT Director (100%, m/w)

In this position, you will oversee IT operations, compliance to Information Security and controls as well as drive the implementation of the global technology roadmap in Switzerland. The position cooperates closely with the global and regional IT and Security teams. The scope covers the modernization of the infrastructure and back-office applications as well as the management and ongoing optimization of IT operations. 

Job Outcomes

  • A commercial and solutions-driven individual, who keeps abreast of market trends and technology developments, in order to align technology to a positive business outcome impacting on costs and service advancement; able to establish a business case for change/investment with clear sight of ROI
  • Drive the implementation in Switzerland of IT Transformation projects as per the global technology roadmap. This includes infrastructure projects as well as the implementation of global financials/ERP platform
  • Cooperate closely with the global Security team & global technology team to ensure adherence with Group Information security, governance and compliance policies as well as external certifications
  • Work closely with the global technology team leveraging a core set of shared services for BAU support and global applications & infrastructure implementations
  • Deploy cloud first solutions such as NextGen networking, cloud desktop and migration to corporate cloud computing
  • Effectively manage an application development and management capability to support a cloud-first strategy and deploy all applications
    • Provide leadership to drive the development, upgradation and maintenance of existing local apps
    • Work collaboratively with regional and global technology on the deployment and integration of global platforms
    • Provide thought leadership to drive commonality in the region
  • Ensure management and maintenance of the ISO27001 and SOX certification, including the management of all technology-related risks, such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data security (incorporating client data and proprietary data), Cyber-crime, Business Continuity, Intellectual Property Infringements, Licensing – completeness and accuracy
  • Establish and govern IT demand management process for an effective prioritization and delivery of the IT projects
  • Provide leadership to drive a service management-oriented IT organization increasing the organization’s level of process maturity, compliance, quality and continuous improvement

Experience and skills

  • 10+ years-experience in IT management including IT operations, infrastructure services, security, application systems, personnel, and budget preferably in a regional or global organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology-related field (or business administration with strong experience in technology)
  • Capable of empowering and leading an IT team to meet business and IT transformation goals. Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals
  • Ability to lead an organization through an agile transformation and/or through cloud migration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate
  • Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and demonstrate appropriate level of judgment and maturity
  • Analytical mind, capable of managing numerous information sources and providing digested views to senior management
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to meet the demands of internal and external customers
  • Flexible and adaptable and capable of changing direction where required and showing flexibility to meet new demands
  • Able to form business partnerships that help drive the IT strategy forward
  • Strong IT operations background with expertise in IT operations risk & control management
  • Seasoned people manager who know how to motivate a team to outperform
  • Experience in project management
  • Mother tongue French with very good level in German (or vice versa). Fluent in English
